Welcome to Leicester Knighton Fields Swimming Club
Based at Aylestone Leisure Centre the Knighton Fields swimming club was founded in 1910.
We are a competitive club, taking part in a number of friendly gala and league fixtures,
but we welcome all swimmers, regardless of age, sex and ethnic background.

Sophie Konderak
Knighton Fields would like to express their deepest sympathy to the family of Sophie Konderak.
Sophie swam with us as a youngster and is fondly remembered by a number of the older and ex-members. During her time with us there was a strong rivalry
between Sophie, Priya, Emma and Shanice, especially during the Club Championships. You can still see the times in the 2003 and 2004 Results pages.
A strong performer during gala performances, it became clear over time that Sophie had a natural talent. Eventually moving onto a bigger club in 2005, and
ultimately making the City of Leicester squad, we were sad to lose her then, but even more-so now.
Our sincere condolences to Sophie's family, and to all who knew her.
Barbecue
The club barbecue in August was a big hit, (in more ways than one).

British Records!
Tsubasa Nakagawa has been continuing to progress his swimming achievements, setting 14, 15 and 16 years British Age Group Records for 50m Freestyle.
Well done Tsubasa - Knighton Fields is proud of your requirements.

What's up?
I have finally had a spring clean around the site, and got it more-or-less up to date. Let me know if I have missed anything - Steve.
The Records section is now integrated into the new results section, and is fully up-to-date. It's all in the Swimmers > Times section.
Swimmers - want to see how you've been swimming recently? Our new section lists all swimmers and not only their PBs, but also your recent times
in galas and time trials. Click on the Swimmers > Times options to take a look.

Swim21 Accreditation
Following a huge effort by Julia Ball and other members of the committee,
LKFSC has been awarded the Swim21 Silver Standard for Skill Development and automatic qualification for the Sport England Clubmark.
The club is amongst the very first in the county to gain the award, and we can be proud that we were specifically
commended by the Swim21 National Assesment Panel for the quality of our submission.
Without Swim21 our longterm viability would have been uncertain, and in the future would not have been
able to take part in ASA galas. We have therefore passed a major milestone in safeguarding the future of our club.
